Dannii Minogue

Danielle Jane "Dannii" Minogue (born October 20, 1971) is an Australian-born singer-songwriter. She is also the sister of Australian superstar Kylie Minogue. She began her career on the Australian talent show Young Talent Time. From there she landed a role in the successful soap opera Home and Away. This led to Dannii following her sister Kylie into the pop charts. Her debut album Love And Kisses, released in 1990, contained five top 40 hits including "Success" and "Jump To The Beat". Dannii also filmed her first and so far only film role in Secrets (1993).

Follow up recording Get Into You (1993) fared less successfully, with "This Is It" being her only top 10 hit from it. After the failure of Get Into You Dannii parted company with RCA and Mushroom Records.

In 1997 Dannii landed a multi million dollar contract with Eternal Records, who released the album Girl with her first top 5 hit "All I Wanna Do". However, Girl limped into the UK charts at #57 and she was dropped again.

Now without a record deal Dannii returned to acting and toured Australia in the sell out Grease: The Arena Spectacular and followed that with performances in the Hunchback of Notre Dame in London's West End as well as the Vagina Monologues.

In 2001, as sister Kylie made a comeback, Dannii recorded a song with dance act Riva, the track "Who Do You Love Now?" became Dannii's 13th top 40 hit in the UK , reaching #3 on the charts. Following the success of this, Dannii landed a 6 album deal with London Records. Her first album under this deal 2003's "Neon Nights" gave her 3 more UK Top 10 hits, including her biggest date - "I Begin To Wonder" which reached #2. "I Begin To Wonder" was also briefly released as a remix with the huge Dead Or Alive hit "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" The remix was a huge UK club-track. Neon Nights was co-written and co-producer by Dannii.

Dannii was married to Australian actor Julian McMahon and after their divorce was engaged for a time in the mid 1990s to Canadian Formula One driver Jacques Villeneuve. She also participated in the first Gumball 3000 rally, driving a Porsche Boxster.

In 2004, Dannii released "You Won't Forget About Me" - a clubstomping hit that topped the charts in 16 countries (UK#1, US#9 and Canada #12). "You Won't Forget About Me", a state of the art bootleg that utilizes an original song written by Dannii and the backing track of "Flower Power" marks the release of her upcoming album "Silken Spark". In 2004, Dannii begins work on an international feature film - "Shoestring World".
